This version deliberately limits Meghalaya to Shillong/Sohra. It does not include Darjeeling, North Sikkim, Dawki or the Nongriat trek. Confirm a train leaving NJP on Day 5 and reaching Guwahati on Day 6. Leave generous time after the hill transfer; if no suitable service is available, revise the route before quoting. Kerala rail in both directions would consume too much of this already compact two-state trip. For a fuller two-state experience, allow 12–13 days.
